Conversation with Policy Makers and State Leadership
Event Description:
Hear insights from policy makers & state leaders on Maryland’s business and policy priorities.

Join the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce for a Fireside Chat featuring U.S. The Honorable Angela D. Alsobrooks and Maryland State Senator The Honorable Nick Charles (District 25).

This event brings together two of Maryland’s most prominent public servants for an engaging conversation on recent legislative developments at both the federal and state levels, including the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and recent U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) ruling that affects certified and disadvantaged businesses.

The conversation will focus on how these policy developments could influence opportunities for small and minority-owned enterprises, enhance access to contracts and capital, and strengthen workforce development across Prince George’s County and the state.

Discussion Highlights

  • The Big Beautiful Bill Act and its role in advancing equitable business growth
  • What the new USDOT ruling means for certified and disadvantaged businesses
  • Expanding opportunities for local firms in state and federal contracting
